World Patient Safety Day
BE-SAFE Project Commemorates World Days to Promote Healthy Sleep Practices with a gender perspective
In commemoration of World Sleep Day on the 15th of March and International Women's Day on the 8th of March, the BE SAFE project is proud to reaffirm its commitment to promoting healthy sleep practices in older people and addressing inequalities in sleep health. This year World Sleep Day’s theme, centered around social determinants of health such as gender, loneliness, and isolation, resonates deeply with our mission to improve sleep quality for all individuals.
In celebration of World Sleep Day, the EU funded BE-SAFE project announces the release of three leaflets in English addressed to patients ("You may be at risk" and "Sleep soundly, sleep safely") and one for caregivers. These materials will be translated into the local languages soon. Also, BE-SAFE created an infographic on sleep hygiene tips for the population, curated a relaxation music playlist on Spotify, and launched our 3rd issue of the BE SAFE newsletter.
BE-SAFE Celebrates International Women's Day with Special Women Edition of “MEET BE-SAFE EXPERTS"
Additionally, in honor of International Women's Day, the BE-SAFE project launched a series of initiatives aimed at celebrating and highlighting the contributions of women within the project. These actions, targeted towards researchers, policymakers, and the general public, are designed to promote gender equality and showcase the expertise of female professionals involved in the project, as the special "Meet BE-SAFE Experts" a social media campaign featuring female team members.
Moreover, BE SAFE published an exclusive interview with a PhD in anthropology and expert in gender perspective, Dr. Maribel Ponferrada. Finally, the project curated a Spotify playlist showcasing songs by female artists from the different project countries, aiming to celebrate women's achievements and diversity across borders.
