Connecting science and clinical practice: BE-SAFE marks World Health Day
On April 7th 2026, BE-SAFE marked World Health Day by highlighting the importance of connecting research with the needs of patients and healthcare professionals.
In a video contribution, Dr Minna Johansson, member of the BE-SAFE Scientific Advisory Board, reflected on the challenges that benzodiazepine and sedative-hypnotic use presents for clinicians and patients, both across Europe and worldwide.
She highlighted how the Scientific Advisory Board brings together different perspectives to help strengthen the project and make its outcomes more useful in clinical practice. This input supports BE-SAFE’s commitment to developing practical, patient-centred approaches to reducing sleeping medicine use among older adults.
By bringing scientific expertise into dialogue with everyday healthcare challenges, BE-SAFE aims to turn research into meaningful improvements in patient safety and quality of care.
